有书读，就是一种幸福。但是，要如何帮助学生找寻简单的幸福？

我们有一个梦想，就是要帮助更多孩子滚动生命。

我们知道教育很重要，但我们更知道，教育不能只是坐在课堂上上课这么简单。但，有多少人知道，阅读带给他们的生活力量？

南宋著名思想家朱熹提到“读书譬如饮食，从容咀嚼，其味必长；大嚼大咀，终不知味也。”我们都希望孩子可以活在“慢阅读”而非“赶路”，在慢速中发现乐趣。正当我们城市孩子活在背诵和快速阅读时代的时候，还有很多孩子没办法体会慢速阅读和快速阅读不同，因为除了课堂的教材外，他们没有能力掏钱去买课外读物。

书，不会讨厌我们；书，不会嫌弃我们；书，不会对我们唠叨，书……

教育的意义就像天上闪烁的星星，让每个孩子都发光。《中学生》月刊希望推动“认养计划”，期望借助更多人的一小动力，透过捐助好书，让每个孩子可以借着每月阅读，摆脱对学习困境的成见，并建立良好价值观。

台东均一中小学、宜兰慈心华德福学校董事长严长寿提到“教育，是一个社会最重要的隐形建筑，真正的文化生命必须正本清源，从教育的起始点开始涓滴累积。”

“读书滋味长”。推动阅读不是给孩子一本书就好，而是长期推动阅读风气，让每月阅读一本书成为“阅读习惯”。而谁又能扮演小天使，给孩子一份最好礼物？你，我还是他？

只要我们跨出一小步，伸出援手，推动捐书计划，就能将《中学生》月刊派送到有需要的地方，做到培育、散播及深耕的工作。

Promote reading, help the children to have a meaningful rolling life.

Having a chance to read is a blessing in life.But，how do they find simple happiness in life?

We have a dream to help more children to have a meaningful rolling life through reading.

We know that education is important, but we also know that education is not as simple as attending classes and having lessons. But how many people know, reading brings them an active life?

The famous thinker, Zhu Xi of Southern Song Dynasty once quoted :  “Reading is like eating. Chewing well and unhurriedly, the taste of food is fully savoured; but if eating hurriedly by big gulps and bites, the food finally becomes tasteless for us.” So we all hope that our children will enjoy living a life just like leisure reading unhurriedly instead of rushing into everything like reading, in order to discover its pleasure of reading. While our urban city children are living in an era of requiring recitation and quick reading, there are also many children who are unable to appreciate the difference between the two styles of eating because apart from the materials used in classroom teaching, these kids cannot afford to buy any other (extracurricular readers) readers outside the classrooms.

Books are not ‘hostile’ to us; they will never ‘forsake’ us nor will they keep on bothering us with ‘naggings’ and …etc.

The definition of education is like the ‘ twinkling stars in the sky’, so that every child ‘glitters’ like the star individually. Majalah Pelajar magazine hopes to promote an ‘ adoption of books programme’ , expecting to amass support of more people starting from a few to a greater force, through the contributions of the ‘ adoption of books programme’, so as to enable these destitute children of the remote areas to be able to read monthly in order to be rid of difficulties in studying and the prejudice of the mode of ‘stereotyped learning’.

Stanley Ye, the Chairman of C i-xin Waldorf School, Taitung Junyi School for innovative learning, referred to ‘education as one of the society’s most important invisible architecture, the true cultural life must begin from its root of  righteousness, clarity and  propriety,  and the education’s starting point begins from the accumulation of  small amount of contributions – like the saying goes –‘ little drops of water make the mighty ocean.’

‘Reading is like savouring the taste of every mouthful of food unhurriedly’. Promoting reading to children is not good enough to simply give them a book to read, it is a long-term reading culture that motivates children to read a book every month to make reading a habitual activity for them. Who is going to play the role of an angel for the resource-poor children in the rural areas by giving them such an excellent gift? You, I , he or she?

All we need to do is to go forward by a small step, lend a helping hand – to promote the book-donation programme, then we will be able to deliver Majalah Pelajar magazines to where the needy requires , so as to practice the good deeds of propagating education, spreading the ‘seeds of  reading’ and cultivating the educational work to the wide and the faraway.

I am willing to be the little angel sponsoring books for the needy children, to help them relieve their difficulties and to find the pleasure of learning through reading.

马来西亚董总1986年出版《中学生》月刊，是一本关心青少年成长的教育及辅导性学生读物，曾获马来西亚教育部联邦督学团华文科委会所编的《中小学华文科观察指导手册》推荐为华文科优良的课外读物。

《中学生》月刊从早期的关怀青少年、提倡文学出发，到后期转个方向，以关心青少年的教育出发，从Growth（交心）、Love（关心）、Joy（喜乐）、Dream（梦想）内容中，让有名作家、过来人及专业人士细细分享，协助青少年分担分忧，人生的梦，不再遥远。

除了文字阅读，《中学生》月刊也注重美术设计的视觉，同时也提倡本地创作，让更多读者可以走在文字与图像阅读并重的时代。与此同时，《中学生》月刊也让学生学习创意及独立思考、表达意见，与各地的青少年交流，拓宽视野，而这一切，我们都努力地以深入浅出的方式，来带动高初中同学的学习兴趣。

踏入第29年，《中学生》月刊的功能备受肯定，走到今天，为了在这斑斓缤纷的资讯世界，提供最佳内容，《中学生》月刊希望可以加强青少年对周遭环境关怀的敏锐度，建立青少年更宽阔的视野，以及树立青少年正面的价值观。

董总出版局坚持办一本内容丰富，人手一本，透过作者恳切的分享，让挫败的青少年得以欢喜出发，让追求梦想的青少年得以圆梦。

为了推广终身学习、追求圆融的人生，《中学生》月刊不只是静态出版，也主动办书展、创意写作比赛、写作营、海外游学团、采访营等，希望可以透过面对面的交流，迸出智慧的火花。

Why do we need to read Majalah Pelajar Magazine? Why do we need to acquire spiritual food to sustain life from Majalah Pelajar Magazine?

Majalah Pelajar is a monthly magazine which has been published by United Chinese School Committees’Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong).Since 1986, and it is about the adolescents’ growth of where their education and counselling aspects are concerned. This reader had been recommended years ago by the translated name of  ‘Primary and Secondary Art Observation Guidebook’ for teenage students as an excellent and extra Chinese subject’s reader.

The focus of the early publication was diverted to the new direction of comprising later, the youths’ open heart to heart talk to confide in one another,  their loving care , joy, dreams and hopes, and to share  their inner  feelings of  joy, worries and sorrow with the well-known authors, the experienced ones and the professionals , in order to help them realise that  their dreams will no longer be unattainable.

Besides reading, Majalah Pelajar also lays emphasis on visual art and design at the same time, promote local creative artwork  to encourage readers to enjoy the era of pictorial reading. Simultaneously, Majalah Pelajar magazine also aspires to stimulate the students’ creativity and the cultivation of  independent thoughts, expressions of opinions and ideas as well as having interactive sessions with youths all over the places to broaden their horizons, and because of that, we are working diligently from profound theories to easy-to-understand approach in order to arouse the students’ learning interests.  

Now coming through to our magazine’s 29th year of  beautiful and colourful world of informative age, the features of Majalah Pelajar are firmly established with the finest  contents, hopefully to strengthen students’ acute awareness of  caring for their  surrounding  environment, building them broader visions as well as establishing positive values for them.

Dong Zong Publication Department persists on producing  a content-rich magazine for everyone to have and to share views earnestly with the authors,  help the disenchanted youths to embark on their new vision to pursue their dreams of true happiness.

In order to promote lifelong learning and pursue a life of achievable goals,  Majalah Pelajar organises many activities such as Book  Fair, Creative Writing Competitions, Overseas Travelling and Study Tours, Sunny Camp and etc., hoping to spark off the enlightenment of wisdom through directly face to face interactive communications.
